What Tailgate Accessories Actually Work With TrailDeck? Here’s the Straight Answer

Since launching TrailDeck, one of the most common questions we’ve seen in forums, comments, and emails is pretty simple:

“What tailgate accessories are compatible with TrailDeck?”

It’s a fair question. The Bronco doesn’t have a lot of wasted space to begin with, and once you start adding real gear, every inch matters. TrailDeck wasn’t designed in a vacuum. It was built through real conversations with owners in forums and communities, and it’s been on the market long enough now that people are using it in the real world. That’s also when some of the tricky questions started showing up.

So let’s walk through this the honest way.

Why Compatibility Became a Real Headache

TrailDeck came out of a pretty common frustration we kept hearing from Bronco owners. The cargo floor isn’t flat when the seats are down, access is awkward, and a lot of setups either waste space or lock you into one use case. TrailDeck solved that problem for a lot of people, but once it was installed, another question followed quickly.

“What about my tailgate accessories?”

Some people were running tables. Some had other storage setups. And suddenly compatibility mattered more than specs on paper.

TrailDeck Dimensions and Why They Matter

Let’s start with the physical reality.

TrailDeck’s external footprint is 41.48 inches long and 29.1 inches wide. Once installed, it essentially covers the entire cargo floor of the Bronco. That’s intentional. It creates a flat, usable surface and eliminates the step that so many owners complain about.

The key number most people overlook is height.

TrailDeck sits 4.5 inches tall. That means any tailgate-mounted accessory must have at least 4.5 inches of clearance from the cargo floor at its lowest point. If the bottom edge of your tailgate accessory sits lower than that, it’s going to interfere. There’s no way around it.

This is where a lot of compatibility questions get answered before you even touch a wrench.

What About the Current Tailgate Table?

A lot of people have asked specifically about our current Tailgate Table, SKU C1002V03, and whether it works with TrailDeck.

The honest answer is no.

When TrailDeck was originally designed, compatibility with SKU C1002V03 was not considered. Both products occupy the same physical space once installed, and they simply cannot coexist as designed. That wasn’t an oversight so much as a design decision at the time. TrailDeck was prioritized for cargo usability, strength, and daily function.

That said, a few owners have reported that removing the TrailDeck handle allows the two to work together in a limited way. That’s not something we officially recommend, but it’s worth mentioning since it’s come up more than once.

What We Did About It

Once this feedback started coming in, we didn’t ignore it.

We went back to the drawing board and started working on a new tailgate table designed specifically around TrailDeck’s dimensions. The result is a smaller, updated Tailgate Table, SKU C2259, scheduled to launch in March.

Visually, it looks almost identical to the original version. The difference is in the sizing. It’s been adjusted so it works with TrailDeck without compromising either product’s function. We’ll be sharing full details and updates through our social channels and forums as we get closer to launch.

Already Own the Old Tailgate Table?

If you already purchased Tailgate Table SKU C1002V03 and are interested in TrailDeck, we don’t want you stuck.

You can reach out to our customer support team at service@broaddict.com. Just include your original order number for SKU C1002V03, and our team will help you with an upgrade option toward the new compatible table once it becomes available.

Why This Matters

TrailDeck is part of a larger ecosystem of ford bronco accessories, not a standalone gimmick. Whether you’re running a bronco cargo slide, looking at a ford bronco slide out tailgate, or building a setup piece by piece, compatibility matters just as much as strength or looks.

That’s why we’re open about what works, what doesn’t, and what we’re actively fixing.

If you’re running TrailDeck now or considering the broaddict traildeck for your Bronco, understanding these details upfront will save you time, money, and frustration later.

We’ll continue updating the community as new accessories roll out, and as always, the best feedback comes from people actually using their gear.
