Living With the TrailDeck: My Real-World Experience
I wanted to share some thoughts and answer a few common questions about the broaddict traildeck, now that I’ve had it installed and been using it for a while. This isn’t a first impression. It’s how it’s actually worked for me day to day.
The installation was really simple and didn’t require any additional tools. I did call a friend to help me lift it into the back and hold it in place while I secured the bolts, which I’d highly recommend. Before starting, I read through the instructions and watched the online video, and that made the whole process straightforward. Having a second person definitely makes it easier, but overall it was much simpler than I expected, especially compared to other bronco cargo slide setups I looked at.
As far as daily use goes, it’s been working out just fine. I mostly use it to store general items that I like to keep in the vehicle all the time, things like hiking and walking sticks, a small first aid kit, a blanket, some straps, and other small gear. The drawer slides out easily, and it fits perfectly in my Raptor. We’re also planning to use it for tailgating once football season comes back around, which should work out great. From a day to day perspective, it’s easily one of the more practical ford bronco accessories. I’ve added.
One of my favorite things about it is the built-in storage. That was a big factor for me when I was comparing options. Compared to the Ford OEM slide out, having actual usable storage underneath makes a huge difference. It’s well built, saves space, adds more storage in the rear, and I can still access the rear tray area in the trunk without any issues. That alone made it a better option for me than the ford bronco slide out tailgate.
Before deciding on this setup, I looked at the Ford OEM slide out tailgate and one other option from a different company. Both were more expensive than this one. One of them did offer storage, but I couldn’t find much information or many reviews on it, which made me hesitant. As for the Ford product, it didn’t offer any type of storage solution at all. Based on pricing, features, and what I could find from other users, I went with this setup instead, and so far it has lived up to my expectations.
Hope this helps anyone who’s been looking at different options and trying to figure out what actually makes sense for their setup. This has worked well for me so far, and I’m happy with how it’s held up in real use.
